Happy belated 4th of July! I hope everyone had a great day out there celebrating America. I know Mal, Afton, and I certainly paid homage to our roots with some Bud Light 40s and A TON of Shania Twain. Oh how we miss Missouri.
Friday we spent exploring more of this fine city via the Staten Island Ferry. Its free, its takes you to Staten Island, and you get to see the city and the Statue of Liberty from a view you wouldn't necessarily get to see elsewhere. We also wandered around Ground Zero, Trinity Church, and had a yummy dinner of pasta and gelato in Little Italy. We ate like we were on vacation and loved it.
Saturday, of course, was the Fourth of July. As we hurried, nay, sprinted to the Hudson we could here the explosions of light eluding us. By the time we reached the river they were gone. I guess it took a holiday celebrating home to make us appreciate what we're missing back in St. Louis/Columbia. We miss you like crazy!
Sunday we made a Queens breakfast of sugar pancakes and cinnamon rolls followed by St. Elmo's Fire and a lot of lounging. Needed to relax before the long week ahead.
Love and miss you all like mad,
XOXO
Hannah
